2006 - 2008 Gold NatWest Pigs, Maxwell, Woody, Annabel
250 Woodys produced
400 Annabel & Maxwell produced
In 2006 Wade were asked to support Natwest with a new promotion for savings accounts and investments, anyone opening a new account would be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 114 Limited Edition Gold Woody's from a run of only 250. Similar promotions took place in 2007 when 400 Gold Annabel's were produced, Gold Maxwell arrived in 2008 again a similar promotion with 400 being produced. At the time popularity was low which was partly driven by a change in audience, a smaller advertising campaign but also a larger associated production cost.
Details of the promotion can be found in the correspondence section where you will find the leaflet advertising the Natwest Gold Woody competition.
Hilary and Nathaniel were never produced, in 2008 NatWest was adapting to various challenges as part of the financial crisis, and it was deemed inappropriate to be continuing the series during this difficult period for the bank and its customers. All three Netwest gold piggy banks are smaller than the originals from the 80s, with a printed rather than embossed stamp and came with a certificate of authenticity.
They are issued in a blue presentation box and a cardboard outer box with a gold ribbon, gold Woody did not have the ribbon around the box.
